This research aims to analyze the characteristics of fuel oil resulting from pyrolysis of plastic waste originating from the Terjun landfill, Medan City. Pyrolysis is carried out at three temperature ranges, namely 150℃–200℃, 200℃–250℃, and 250℃–300℃, using a mixture of plastic materials (PET 200gr, HDPE 300gr, PVC 100gr, LDPE 600gr, PP 600gr, PS 100gr, and OTHERS 100gr). The research results show that the pyrolysis temperature affects the quantity and quality of the oil produced, including density, viscosity, flash point, cetane value and heating value. Pyrolysis oil produced at a temperature of 250℃–300℃ has the best characteristics with a density of 0.799 g/mL, viscosity of 2.507 mm²/s, flash point of 58℃, cetane value of 48.9, and heating value of 48.9 MJ/kg. This research compares pyrolysis oil with fossil fuels, showing that pyrolysis oil has potential as an alternative fuel. It is hoped that the research results can provide a solution to the plastic waste problem while providing a sustainable energy source.en_US
