dc.description.abstract | Air pollution has become an urgent environmental issue in Indonesia, posing a serious threat to the rate of global warming and climate change. To address this, Indonesia has developed the Long-Term Strategy for Low Carbon and Climate Resilience 2050 (LTS-LCCR) as a roadmap to achieve Net Zero Emission (NZE) by 2060. This strategy focuses on reducing emissions from the energy sector, including agribusiness sectors such as palm oil. Environmental standards often focus on emissions at the industrial source level without considering the natural system's capacity to absorb these emissions. Technology is one of the methods used to reduce emissions from factories toward achieving Net Zero Emission. The technology designed in this research is the plate valve tray tower type Wet Scrubber. The research is conducted at PT PKS Pagar Merbau. The goal of this design is to create an air pollution control device that meets production needs, calculate its efficiency, and perform simulations of the Wet Scrubber design. The results show that the plate tray tower type Wet Scrubber using 8% NaOH solution as the scrubbing liquid can reduce CO2 and NO2 gases by 85%, and SO2 by 98%. In the design, the required liquid mass flow rate is 1850 kg/hour with a volumetric flow rate of 23.05 m³/s. The Wet Scrubber's height is 1.7 m with a diameter of 1.4 m. It has 2 trays of valve type, and the material used is Stainless Steel 304. The final output of this research includes design drawings and simulation results using Aspen HYSYS. | en_US |
