Analisis Koleksi Bahan Pustaka Tercetak pada Perpustakaan SMP Negeri 2 Medan Berdasarkan Peraturan Kepala Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia Nomor 11 Tahun 2017

Abstract

The aim of this research was to analyze printed collection at library State Junior High School 2 Medan based on head librarian regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2017. The research method used is descriptive method with qualitative approach. Data collection in this research was carried out by observing, interviewing and taking documentation. Data analysis techniques were applied through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, data verification and drawing conclusions.Research results are divided into 8 categories. 1) The type of collection at library State Junior High School 2 Medan was only printed material that are consisted of non-fiction and fiction, reference collection, periodicals like newspaper while magazine was not available. 2) The number of library collection was in accordance with regulation, the library also adds book regularly every year. 3) Reference collection at library State Junior High School 2 Medan was quite diverse and had complied with the regulations. 4) The material processing of library State Junior High School 2 Medan was not conducted optimally by the librarian. 5). The re-enumeration and weeding of library State Junior High School 2 Medan was not carried optimally by librarian because there was only 1 librarian on duty. 6) The maintenance of collection at library State Junior High School 2 Medan was carried out by librarian and teachers who managed the library, book with damaged covers are the library material that were most often repaired in the library. 7) Promotion of library State Junior High School 2 Medan was carried out in various ways. 8) A written Library Management Policy was not available at library State Junior High School 2 Medan. Thus, the results showed that there were still many collections of library materials that were not in accordance with the Regulation of the Head of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2017.
