Analisis Tugas dan Tanggung Jawab One-Person Librarian dalam Pengelolaan Perpustakaan Kantor Perwakilan Bank Indonesia Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

The aim of the research is to analyze the duties and responsibilities of one-person librarians in managing the library Bank Indonesia representative office of North Sumatra Province. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Determining informants in this study used purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out by observing, interviewing and taking documentation. The data analysis techniques applied were data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the research showed that the analysis of the duties and responsibilities of one-person librarians in managing the library Bank Indonesia representative office of North Sumatra Province based on Cooperman's theory has 4 categories, namely: 1) Collection development had been implemented well, but it was less effective due to a lack of resources in library management. 2) Library promotion carried out by utilizing social media and carrying out activities outside the library had been implemented well. 3) Professional development had been implemented well, but there were obstacles such as lack of access, time and human resources for professional development. 4) Comprehension of information technology development had been implemented well, but there were various obstacles faced such as paid technology, foreign languages that were not mastered by librarians, distractions and inappropriate retrieval in the search for the desired solution. The conclusion of this research is that collection development, library promotion, professional development and understanding of information technology had been implemented well, but in its implementation there were several obstacles faced by librarians which are the lack of human resources in library management.
