Peran Kader Posyandu dalam Meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Ibu dan Anak Di UPT Puskesmas Darussalam Kecamatan Medan Petisah Kota Medan

Abstract

The welfare of mothers and children is an important aspect in public health development. Posyandu cadres have a strategic role in improving the welfare of mothers and children through various activities carried out at Posyandu. This research aims to determine the role of cadres in improving the welfare of mothers and children at the Darussalam Community Health Center. This research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observation and documentation. Research informants consisted of Posyandu cadres, Promkes, parents of toddlers and the community. The research results show that the role of Posyandu cadres in improving the welfare of mothers and children has been going quite well. Cadres play a role in providing information, increasing parental awareness, building good relationships, and helping identify and treat maternal and child health problems. Apart from that, cadres also try to maintain the presence of mothers at Posyandu, provide social support, and equip mothers with knowledge so they are not completely dependent on health services. However, the limited knowledge of cadres regarding maternal and child health causes Health Promotion (Promkes) to play more of a role in education. Therefore, it is important for Posyandu cadres to increase their capacity through training, so that Posyandu can run more optimally and provide greater benefits for the community. Collaboration between cadres, families, communities and health workers also needs to be strengthened to support the overall welfare of mothers and children.
