The primary aim of this study is to examine the extent to which users' information needs influence the availability of collections at the Sari Mutiara University Library. This research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing a survey method. The population of the study consists of all library users, amounting to 5,937 individuals. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error, yielding a sample of 98 participants. The sampling method employed in this study is random sampling. Data collection was conducted through observations and questionnaires. The variables were measured using a Likert scale. For data analysis, tabular presentation was used, incorporating frequency and percentage calculations based on users' answers. The data were processed using SPSS version 22 for statistical analysis. Based on the analysis conducted using SPSS version 22, the Cronbach's Alpha score for the indicators was greater than 0.871, indicating that the measures of information needs and collection availability demonstrate a high level of reliability. The results of the study indicate that the information needs variable has a significant impact on the availability of collections at the Sari Mutiara University Library. The coefficient of determination was calculated at 0.456, indicating that 45.6% of the variance in collection availability is explained by the information needs of users. The study concludes that the availability of collections influences 20% of users' information needs at the Sari Mutiara University Library.
