New nurses face challenges in adapting to the work environment and professional demands. The preceptorship program si a structured mentoring initiative provided by senior nurses to new nurses. This program aims to help new nurses develop competencies and enhance their performance, particularly in nursing care. This study aims ot identify the relationship between the preceptorship program and nurse performance at Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital Medan. The research design employed si a quantitative study with a descriptive correlational approach and a cross-sectional design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 45 new nurses working at Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital Medan. Bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test was conducted to examine the relationship
between variables in this study. The results showed that most respondents (86.7%) rated the preceptorship program as good. Atotal of 95.6% of new nurses
demonstrated good performance after participating in the preceptorship program. The Chi-Square test results obtained a value of (p = 0.015; p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between the preceptorship program and nurse performance. This study is expected to serve as a reference for future research.
