Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose levels. Type II diabetes mellitus is caused by insulin resistance and pancreatic beta cell dysfunction. Health education on Diabetes Mellitus disease management provides alternative options that maybe able to help change blood glucose levels for the better in order to prevent complications in Diabetes Mellitus patients. Education “PATUH” behavioral health education was created for DM patients so that the disease does not get worsen and keep their health under control. The purpose of this senior practice is to carry out nursing care by conducting health education health education with obedient behavior to control blood sugar levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. The location of the practice is in the mahogany-meranti inpatient room Teaching Hospital Prof.Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis University of North Sumatra North Sumatra University. This “PATUH” behavior is given to patients with type II diabetes mellitus,implementation was carried out for 2 days. After conducting behavioral health education “PATUH” , it was found that there was an increase in Mrs. S knowledge and change in Mrs. S behavior to change her lifestyle to be healthy so that her blood glucose levels are controlled. blood glucose levels are controlled.
