Perception and Motivation Joining Internship to Japan Among University of North Sumatera Japanese Literature

This research aims to determine the perceptions and motivations of Japanese Literature
students at the University of North Sumatera to take part in an internship program to
Japan. The theories used in this research are perception theory and Existence,
Relatedness, Growth (ERG) motivation theory. The research method used is
quantitative descriptive research with questionnaire data collection techniques.
Through the research results, it was concluded that Japanese Literature students at the
University of North Sumatra gave a positive perception of the internship program to
Japan. The motivation of students to take part in an internship program to Japan is
primarily based on growth needs including needs that encourage students to be creative
and relationship needs include human needs for interaction between one individual and
another individual, with the majority of students also being motivated by existence
needs include covers the basic needs of student life.
