Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by increased blood sugar (glucose) levels or hyperglycemia. Type 2 DM can cause pathophysiological changes in various organ systems such as the eyes, kidneys, lower extremities. The results of the assessment obtained are in accordance with the study of 3 clients with diabetes mellitus who had the same complaints, namely pain and tingling in the extremities and back of the neck, there were additional symptoms, namely the client's blood sugar was not controlled and did not comply with taking medication and the client's lack of knowledge about the disease. diabetes mellitus. The nursing diagnoses that were made were acute pain related to peripheral hypoxia, instability of blood glucose levels related to hyperglycemia and knowledge deficit related to lack of exposure to information and not knowing the source of information. Nursing interventions are planned according to the theoretical nursing intervention formulation, namely: supporting clients to attend and participate in the treatment stages. Teach clients to understand the disease process. The nursing implementation provided is entirely in accordance with the interventions that have been prepared in theory but the implementation is adjusted to the client's situation and circumstances. Evaluation of nursing care for clients shows that the nursing care provided has had a positive impact on the client's condition, namely increasing the client's knowledge about treating diabetes mellitus, and how to use foot exercise therapy to reduce the pain suffered by the client.
