Sexual violence refers to deviant sexual acts committed regardless of the relationship between the perpetrator and the victim. This study aims to identify the level of knowledge regarding sexual abuse among elementary school children in Medan City. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach, with a sample of 50 students from SDN 067245 Medan, selected using a questionnaire containing 15 statements. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution and percentages. The results indicate that the majority of respondents have good knowledge of sexual abuse, with 68% categorized as having good knowledge and
32% as having sufficient knowledge. This can be attributed to children's cognitive development and increasing ability to process information, which enhances their understanding. The findings also show that most respondents have a strong awareness of the importance of maintaining and respecting personal boundaries, as well as rejecting unwanted sexual acts. This reflects an awareness of the potential risks of sexual abuse from various parties, including family members and strangers. Schools are expected to play a proactive role in preventing and addressing sexual abuse cases by implementing sexual education programs, enforcing strict policies against sexual violence, and providing child-friendly counseling services to support both victims and perpetrators.
