Abstract

Background: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP/CPOB) are standards that aim to ensure that the quality of the drugs produced is in accordance with the requirements and intended use. Pharmacists have an important role in the pharmaceutical industry so that the drugs produced are in good quality, safe and efficacious. Therefore, pharmacists are required to have insight, knowledge, practical and managerial skills in applying their abilities and knowledge professionally in the pharmaceutical industry.

Objective: This Apothecary Professional Work Practice (PKPA) has an objective to find out and see directly the role, function and responsibilities of pharmacists in the pharmaceutical industry and understand the implementation of CPOB at PT. Kalbio Global Medika. This activity aims for prospective pharmacists to gain sufficient insight, knowledge and practical experience about pharmaceutical work in the industry through the implementation of CPOB.

Method: PKPA in the Pharmaceutical Industry of PT. Kalbio Global Medika. has been implemented on September 9 - November 13, 2024. PKPA activities at PT. Kalbio Global Medika carried out by PKPA students are placed in the Quality Assurance department specifically in the Qualification & Validation division.

Result: The Quality Assurance department has a role to ensure the entire production process to the quality of the products produced. This department is divided into two divisions, namely the Process Operation division and the Qualification & Validation division. Qualification & Validation division plays a role in proving the suitability of processes, tools, and systems in the manufacturing area in order to achieve the desired quality.

Conclusion: PT. Kalbio Global Medika has implemented CPOB aspects well in every aspect and series of its production processes.
