    Abstract
Background: Sunflower seed oil has strong antioxidant activity so it has the potential to be developed as an anti-aging preparation. The development of antiaging preparations containing sunflower seed oil in the form of nanocreams is expected to increase the release of active substances thereby increasing the anti-aging effect. Methods: The study was conducted experimentally by comparing the results of the formulation of sunflower seed oil nanocream preparations with the high-shear stirring method consisting of 3 different concentrations, namely 2% (F2), 4% (F3), and 6% (F4), with the formulation of sunflower seed oil cream (F1) and blank (F0). Preparation evaluation tests determination of the type of emulsion in the form of organoleptic tests, pH determination, dispersibility tests, homogeneity checks, of preparations, determination of viscosity, centrifugation tests, determination of particle size of preparations and evaluation of physical stability of preparations in storage, irritation tests on volunteers and testing the effectiveness of anti-aging preparations. Results: The study produced a thick nanocream preparation, with a distinctive smell, yellow color and had good evaluation test results, as well as good preparation quality test results where the nanocream evaluation test met the requirements of pH around (5.17-6.70), dispersion around (5.6-6.1 cm), homogeneous, had a type of oil emulsion in water, met the requirements of viscosity test (2669.8-13519.1 mPas) and centrifugation test. Nanocreams have an initial particle size of F2 329 nm, F3 252 nm and F4 100 nm, namely in the nanocream range of 20 to 500 nm. Each formulation is stable at room temperature for 12 weeks, in a climatic chamber at 40 C, and in cycling tests. Nanocream preparations are non-irritating and have good anti-aging effectiveness, where nanocreams containing 6% sunflower seed oil have the best anti-aging effectiveness of all formulas. Conclusion: Sunflower seed oil 2% (F2), 4% (F3) and 6% (F4) has the potential as a nanocream preparation because it has good stability by meeting the requirements of other creams and has anti-aging effectiveness, especially the 6% nanocream preparation is the best compared to blanks and creams characterized by a decrease in the number of pores, wrinkles and blemishes as well as an increase in facial moisture.
