Along with the development of communication technology, the demand for mobile
phone charging is increasing, especially in open areas, tourist attractions, parks, and
beaches. However, the payment aspect in SPDPG is still a challenge. The payment system
is a mechanism for individual businesses or organizations to conduct financial transactions
safely, efficiently, and effectively. Cash or other conventional payment methods are often
less efficient and vulnerable to security issues. Contactless is a payment technology without
physical contact between a card or device and a payment terminal that uses radio frequency
communication. Smartcard is a smart card equipped with a microprocessor and memory to
store and process data. This study aims to design and build a contactless payment system
based on smartcards with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology at mobile
phone charging stations that use solar panels as the main energy source. RFID technology
is used to conduct contactless payment transactions, where users simply attach the smart
card to the sensor to access the charging service. The designed system consists of main
components in the form of an RFID smartcard, RFID reader, MOSFET IRF520 as a power
control, a USB module that supports fast charging and Arduino Uno as a microcontroller.
The test results show that the system can function well in reading RFID card data,
processing transactions, and activating charging according to the service time selection.
Thus, this system is an innovative and sustainable solution to meet the needs of charging
mobile phones practically, safely, and environmentally friendly.
