Respirasi C-Mikroba dan C-Organik pada Lahan Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit Rakyat di Desa Silebo-Lebo dan PTPN II Kebun Tandem Kecamatan Sunggal Kabupaten Deli Serdang
Respiration Microbial biomass carbon and Organic carbon in Smallholder Oil Palm Plantations in Silebo-lebo Village and PTPN II Kebun Tandem, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency
Abstract
Soil respiration, microbial biomass carbon, and organic carbon are
biological properties that can serve as indicators of soil fertility. The values of soil
respiration and microbial biomass carbon are influenced by microbial activity
within the soil. This study aims to measure the rate of respiration and microbial
biomass carbon in smallholder oil palm plantations in Silebo-lebo Village and
PTPN II Tandem Plantation, as well as to analyze the relationship between the two.
The method used was a survey. The resulting data include respiration rates and
microbial biomass carbon. The results showed that respiration rates varied
between 6.8-24 mg C-CO2/day. The agricultural system using organic and chemical
fertilizers on plantation land in Silebo-lebo Village can increase the respiration
rate, microbial biomass carbon, and organic carbon. Further analysis revealed a
relationship between respiration rate and microbial biomass carbon.
