Agarwood leaves (Aquilaria malaccensis Lamk.) are forest plants of high economic value that can be used as medicine and play a role in the healing process of burns. Agarwood leaf extract contains flavonoid compounds, alkaloids, terpenoids, steroids, triterpenoids. This study aimed to formulate a gel preparation from 96% ethanol extract and hot water extract with sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (Na- CMC) which was effective against white rat burns. The method carried out in this study is to extract agarwood leaves by maceration method, hot water extraction and 96% ethanol. The prepared extract was then formulated into a gel preparation and tested for burn healing activity on 24 white rats, divided into 8 groups of 3 rats each. The burn was done by wounding using an iron plate plate heated in blue flames for 3 minutes and then attached to the back of the rat for 15 seconds. Observations were carried out for 21 days by looking at changes in the diameter of the burn and the percentage of burns. The results of this study showed that all agarwood leaf extract gel formulas had an effectiveness in healing burns in white rats which was characterized by a decrease in burn diameter and an increase in the percentage of healing. The gels that provide effectiveness in healing burns are 5% ethanol extract gel, followed by a gel base without extract, and 5% hot water extract gel with a percentage of 89,56%, 80,91% and 78,30%. The results of statistical testing with crucal wallis showed that there was no significant difference between the treatment groups (p-value ˃ 0,05).en_US
