dc.description.abstract | This research utilizes waste in the form of organic solid waste and sawdust. This study aims to determine the effect of the ratio between organic solid waste and sawdust on the quality of particleboard. This research is made from organic solid waste in the form of vegetables and sawdust. This research used the ratio of organic solid waste/sawdust, 100/0, 75/25, 50/50, 27/75. Testing of physical and mechanical properties refers to the JIS A 5908 (2003) standard. The best test result on density was found to be the ratio of 25/75 with a density of 0.58 g/cm3. For the water content test, the best ratio is 75/25, which is 6.97%. The best ratios in the thickness swelling test and water absorption were 75/25 with 11.44% and 50/50 ratio with 49.89%. The physical properties of particleboard on the parameters of density, moisture content and thickness swelling have met the JIS A 5908 (2003) standard. For mechanical properties testing, in the internal bond test, 2 samples met the JIS A 5908 (2003) standard and in the MOE and the MOR test all samples did not meet the standard. The resulting SEM test showed that the adhesive successfully bonded the two particles. | en_US |
