Excessive smartphone use among adolescents has raised concerns due to its negative effects on psychological well-being and behavior. Self-control and fear of missing out (FoMO) are critical factors influencing problematic smartphone use (PSU). Adolescents with low self-control often struggle to regulate their smartphone usage, while those with high FoMO feel compelled to stay constantly connected online. This study aims to examine the influence of self-control and FoMO on PSU among adolescents. A total of 400 adolescents participated in this research. Data were collected using psychological scales designed to measure self-control, FoMO, and PSU. The findings revealed that self-control and FoMO significantly influence PSU, with an R² value of .359. Self-control negatively and significantly affects PSU, whereas FoMO positively and significantly impacts PSU.en_US
