The high rate of deforestation and the declining population distribution have
caused S. platyclados to be categorized as near threatened and included in the red
list of nearly endangered species. To obtain information on adaptive and productive
species and provenances at a development site, it is necessary to conduct species
combination tests or provenance tests in accordance with the conservation and
breeding strategies of the observed plant species. This research aims to obtain the
optimal provenance and biofertilizer dosage for the growth of 12-month-old S.
platyclados at the research location and to produce Mother plants as an alternative
for vegetative propagation of S. platyclados by measuring survival percentage,
height, diameter, leaf count, and plant health. S. platyclados seedlings with 2
different provenances. The first provenance comes from the Gunung Patah area,
Bengkulu Province. The second provenance comes from Tasik Betung Village,
Mandau District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. The experimental design used in
this study is a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with shading (60%)
and treatment factors, namely provenance and mycorrhizal biofertilizer, conducted
in 6 replications. The research results indicate that there is no interaction between
the application of provenance treatment and mycorrhizal biofertilizer on the growth
of S. platyclados. The optimal provenance treatment for growth at the research
location is the Riau provenance. The Riau provenance has a higher survival
percentage of 67%, while the Bengkulu provenance has a survival percentage of
54%. The optimal mycorrhizal biofertilizer treatment for growth at the research
location is the M3 dose. (7 gr).
