R. mucronata is a mangrove species that has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. Litter that has rotted (decomposed) turns into humus, and finally becomes soil. Decomposition is a dynamic process and is strongly influenced by the presence of decomposers, both in number and diversity. Fungi will play a very big role in the litter decomposition process because fungi are able to degrade organic compounds such as cellulose and lignin which are components that make up leaf cell walls. This research was conducted to identify the type of fungus in the decomposition process of R. mucronata leaf litter, determine the rate of decomposition of R. mucronata leaf litter, and analyze carbohydrate and protein levels in R. mucronata leaf litter that is undergoing decomposition. This research method uses Litter-bags to place leaf litter where isolation will be made by calculating the decomposition rate. The research was conducted for (August 2023-February 2024). The research results showed that there were 6 types of fungi found in R. mucronata leaf litter that is Aspergillus sp1, Aspergillus sp2, Aspergillus sp3, Fusarium sp, Penicillium sp, Trichoderma sp. The decomposition rate of R. mucronata leaf litter is 8,69/year, mimicking the average percentage of carbohydrates contained in R. mucronata litter, namely 9,27% and the average protein is 6,06%.en_US
