dc.description.abstractFishermen's income is the main source used by fishermen to fulfil their daily needs, including the needs of their families. This income is obtained from the net results of fishing, which is income that has been reduced by operational costs, such as fuel, equipment, and other needs while at sea. The income level of capture fishermen in Balige Sub-district is highly influenced by the amount of catch and its selling price. However, this condition is changing along with the increasingly polluted waters of Lake Toba. This type of research is quantitative research. This study aims to determine how differences in income, production and selling prices of fishermen in Balige District before and after Lake Toba was polluted. The data used in this research is primary data by distributing questionnaires to 30 capture fishermen and 30 fishermen who became the research sample. The data analysis method used is descriptive statistical analysis and data test using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The result of this study is that there is a significant difference between the income, production amount and selling price of fishermen before and after Lake Toba is polluted.en_US
