The Effect of Flexible Work Arrangement and Job Satisfaction on The Performance of Gojek Drivers in Medan city
Abstract
Technology has become an integral part of people's lives, including
traveling to a place or receiving food through transportation service providers.
One such company is Gojek, which implements a schedule flexibility system,
allowing drivers to work flexibly so that services can be optimally provided to
users. However, it was found that many Gojek drivers in Medan feel they have not
received fair wages and job security, leading to reduced work flexibility and job
dissatisfaction.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the
variables of Flexible Work Arrangement and Job Satisfaction with the Performance
of Gojek drivers in Medan. This study also aims to analyze the influence of the first
two variables on the Performance variable in this research.
The research was conducted using a quantitative method with an
associative approach. Data were collected through the distribution of
questionnaires to 100 employees using a total sampling technique, supported by
secondary data such as various books and previous studies. The data were analyzed
using instrument tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and
hypothesis testing as tools for data interpretation.
The results of the study show that Flexible Work Arrangements and Job
Satisfaction have a positive and significant effect on Performance, with a
correlation and influence level of 74% and 53.8%, respectively. The findings
indicate that a lack of work flexibility and job satisfaction are causes of the decline
in performance among Gojek drivers in Medan City.
