dc.description.abstract | Background: Professional Work Practice of Pharmacists (PKPA) in Hospitals is one of the professional work practices carried out in the pharmacist professional education program. This PKPA aims to ensure that prospective pharmacists are able to understand the problems of pharmaceutical work in hospitals professionally in accordance with applicable regulations and professional rules. PKPA activities carried out at Prof. dr. H. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis Hospital, University of North Sumatra include the management of pharmaceutical supplies, medical devices, and disposable medical materials (BMHP), and providing hospital clinical pharmacy services. Pharmaceutical supplies and hospital clinical pharmacy services carried out by the pharmacy installation are in accordance with laws and regulations and have been implemented, except for clinical pharmacy services for Monitoring Drug Levels in Blood (PKOD).
Objective: This PKPA is carried out with the aim of preparing and equipping prospective pharmacists to have insight, knowledge, skills, and practical experience to carry out pharmaceutical work in hospitals, can provide an overview of pharmaceutical work problems that occur in hospitals and provide opportunities for prospective pharmacists to apply the knowledge and skills that have been obtained during lectures and apply them during work practices in hospitals. Method: PKPA in hospitals was carried out on June 10 - August 15, 2024 at Prof. Dr. H.
Chairuuddin Panusunan Lubis Hospital, University of North Sumatra, located on Jl. Dr. Mansyur No. 66, Merdeka, Kec. Medan Baru, Medan City, North Sumatra, 20154. PKPA is held every Monday-Friday at 09.00-15.00 WIB in the outpatient depot, operating room depot (OK) chemotherapy depot, and warehouse, and Monday-Saturday at 09.00-15.00 WIB in the inpatient depot and IGD depot.
Results: The implementation of PKPA at Prof. dr. H. Chairuuddin Panusunan Lubis Hospital, University of North Sumatra provides an increase in insight and knowledge regarding the duties and responsibilities of pharmacists in accordance with PMK RI No. 72 of 2016 concerning Pharmaceutical Service Standards in Hospitals and gain insight, knowledge, skills, and practical experience to carry out pharmaceutical work in Hospitals.
Conclusion: The organizational structure and procedures at Prof. dr. H.
Chairuuddin Panusunan Lubis Hospital, University of North Sumatra are running well, therefore, prospective pharmacists can gain good pharmaceutical knowledge at PKPA in Hospitals. | en_US |
