The disorder known as anemia occurs when a person's body produces fewer
red blood cells. Low hemoglobin levels in the body have an impact on the number
of red blood cells produced. The purpose of the study was to analyze the
improvement of knowledge, attitudes and Hb levels of teenage girls.
The research was conducted using a comparative experimental method by
comparing before and after the intervention using a pretest-posttest one group only
design. This study used purposive sampling technique with 80 respondents
conducted in October - November 2024 located in Ujung Batu District, North
Padang Lawas Regency. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively using
the Wilcoxon Test.
The results showed an increase in knowledge, attitudes and Hb levels of teenage
girls after the pharmacist intervention regarding anemia prevention. There was an
increase in knowledge of 79.25 ± 7.50 as many as 49 people (61.3%), an increase
in the attitude of teenage girls 83.01 ± 5.12 as many as 78 people (98%) and the Hb
levels became normal (12-15) after the post test, namely 13.35 ± 0.63 as many as
80 people (100%), significantly (p < 0.05). Thus the pharmacist intervention in
teenage girls after the workshop (p < 0.05) contributed positively in efforts to reduce
stunting.
