Academic stress is a condition often experienced by students, which can negatively impact motivation, focus, interest in learning, and mental health. Emotional Intelligence plays a role in managing emotions, interpersonal relationships, as well as career development and mental health. This study aims to examine the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and academic stress among nursing students at Universitas Sumatera Utara. The research employs a descriptive quantitative method with simple random sampling, involving 225 students from the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Sumatera Utara. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. Bivariate analysis was conducted using the Spearman test to identify the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and academic stress. The results showed a significance value of 0.000. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between Emotional Intelligence and academic stress among students of the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
