The Effect of Leverage, Firm Size, Earnings Growth, and Growth Opportunity on Earnings Response Coefficient (ERC) in Automotive Companies Listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX)
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of leverage, firm size, earnings growth, and growth opportunity on the earnings response coefficient (ERC) in automotive companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2019 to 2023. This research uses a quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from the official websites of the Indonesia Stock Exchange and Yahoo Finance. The population in this study consists of 17 automotive companies, with a sample selected using purposive sampling, totaling 9 companies, and 45 observations. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 30 with analysis techniques including descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results indicate that, partially, earnings growth has a positive and significant effect on the earnings response coefficient, while leverage, firm size, and growth opportunity have no significant effect on the earnings response coefficient. However, simultaneously, leverage, firm size, earnings growth, and growth opportunity have an effect on the earnings response coefficient.
