Carbon dots are carbon nanoparticles with sp2/sp3 hybridization structures that exhibit single or dual emission during fluorescence phenomena. Dual-emission carbon dots offer advantageous excitation-emission characteristics that can be applied in various fields. In this study, carbon dots were synthesized from p-aminophenol as a precursor and ethylenediamine as a dopant using a hydrothermal process. The hydrothermal synthesis was conducted at 180°C for 12 hours, followed by purification and drying at 100°C. The resulting carbon dots exhibited a yellowish-green color under a UV lamp with a wavelength of 395 nm. UV-Vis analysis revealed absorption peaks at 231 nm and 391 nm. FTIR spectra confirmed the presence of OH, C-H, C=N stretching, C-N stretching, aromatic C=C, and C-O functional groups. Photoluminescence analysis displayed two emission peaks at 509 nm and 544 nm, with quantum yield values of 23.13% and 73.4%, respectively. HR-TEM analysis indicated that the particles were spherical, with an average diameter of 9.78 nm.en_US
