This study aims to test the effectiveness of Psychoeducation to Recognize
Language Problems (PKMB) in improving parental knowledge about language
development of preschool children. This study used a quantitative method with a
quasi-experimental design. The research sample consisted of 12 parents who had
children with language delays in gestational age. PKMB was conducted using
lecture methods, case studies, writing conclusions in workbooks, modeling, and
role play. Data were collected through Tes Pengetahuan given before and after
psychoeducation. The results of the analysis showed a significant increase in
parental knowledge scores with a Z value = -3.078 and p = 0.002. The average
pretest score was 8.83, while the posttest score increased to 12.33, indicating that
PKMB succeeded in substantially improving parental knowledge. This study
concludes that Psychoeducation to Recognize Language Problems (PKMB) is
effective in increasing parents' understanding of children's language development
and ways to stimulate language development in early childhood, especially
related to language delay problems.
