dc.description.abstractWith the title of this research, the author conducted a study in Padang Cermin Village, Selesai District, Langkat Regency with the aim of studying the social, economic, and cultural impacts of the patron-client relationship between agents and second-hand goods trackers involved in this livelihood, the relationship between agents and second-hand goods trackers in collecting second-hand goods has unique characteristics because it is not only based on economic transactions, but also there is trust and social networks that have been formed in the community. Research Methodology This data was collected through observation and interviews with informants who have direct experience in the second-hand goods industry, this method ensures a thorough understanding of patron-client interactions. The results of this study indicate that the economic relationship between agents and second-hand goods trackers is mutually beneficial and contributes to improving the economic stability of the community, agents benefit from second-hand goods, while trackers get a reliable income although often uncertain. In the social aspect, this study found that trust and social ties play an important role in strengthening cooperation between agents and trackers, this relationship reflects the cultural values that develop in the community. In the cultural context, this study used goods collection is very attached to the local culture and strengthens community relations. The conclusion of this study shows that the patron-client relationship in Padang Cermin Village is not only based on economic factors, but is also influenced by trust and strong social ties. This relationship provides benefits for both parties, where agents get used goods consistently, while trackers get economic stability even though their income is not always fixed.en_US
