dc.description.abstractBooks as learning media must be adjusted to the reader’s level of difficulty. This level is regulated through book grading. Graded books that are in accordance with book grading rules are expected to help readers understand their reading materials. This study examines the role of graded books on the reading comprehension skills of high school students in Medan. Respondents in this study were 58 high school students in Medan City. The research instrument used to measure the reading comprehension variable was an essay guided by a rubric. Meanwhile, to measure the graded book variable, a rubric was used. The main results of the study showed a significance value of 0.193, which is greater than > 0.05. Based on the results of the correlation coefficient (ρ) of 0.173 with an R2 value of 0.0299. Based on the R2 value obtained, it shows that reading comprehension has a related role that can be explained by graded books of 2.99%, while the rest is influenced by other variables not measured in this study.en_US
