dc.description.abstractCellulose nitrate, a flammable chemical used in explosives and various industries like wood and automotive paints, is produced through nitration of cellulose from rice straw waste. Due to its industrial demand, cellulose nitrate production in Indonesia has risen. The pre-designed cellulose nitrate plant from rice straw is planned to produce with a capacity of 6,500 tons/year (821.7070 kg/hour) and operate for 330 days a year. The plant location is planned in Kawasan Industri Wijayakusuma (KIW), Tugu District, Semarang City, Central Java Province, Indonesia. The land area required to establish the plant is 17,193 m2. The workforce required is 150 people in the form of a Limited Liability Company (LLC) with a line organization system. The economic analysis results for the cellulose nitrate production plant from rice straw through the nitration process are as follows: Capital Investment (CI): IDR 592,648,577,725.35, Total Cost (TC): IDR 393,946,171,149.81, Sales: IDR 587,842,854,355.07, Net Profit: IDR 132,848,124,678.81. The Profit Margin (PM) is 32.32%, Break Even Point (BEP) is 24.85%, Return on Investment (ROI) is 22.42%, Pay Out Time (POT) is 4.46 years, Return on Network (RON) is 56.04%, and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 25.12%. Based on the economic aspect analysis, it can be concluded that the preliminary plant design of cellulose nitrate is feasible to be established.en_US
