Hubungan Stress dengan Siklus Menstruasi pada Remaja Putri di SMK Negeri 2 Kualuh Selatan Kabupaten Labuhanbatu Utara

Abstract

The menstrual cycle is a pattern that describes the interval between the first day of menstruation and the first day of the next menstrual period. A normal menstrual cycle occurs within a range of no less than 21 days and no more than 35 days. Stress is one of the factors that can disrupt the reproductive system in adolescent girls, leading to irregular menstrual cycles. This study aims to determine the relationship between stress and the menstrual cycle in adolescent girls at SMK Negeri 2 Kualuh Selatan, Labuhanbatu Utara Regency. This study employed a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 87 respondents, selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents experienced mild stress, accounting for 72 respondents (82.76%), while 4 respondents (4.60%) experienced moderate stress, and 11 respondents (12.64%) were categorized as having no stress. Most respondents had a regular menstrual cycle, totaling 47 respondents (54.02%), while 40 respondents (45.98%) experienced irregular menstrual cycles. The results of data analysis revealed a p-value of 0.017 (p <0.05), indicating a significant relationship between stress and the menstrual cycle in adolescent girls at SMK Negeri 2 Kualuh Selatan, Labuhanbatu Utara Regency.
