Pengaruh Pola Asuh Orang Tua terhadap Prestasi Belajar Mahasiswa Keperawatan USU Stambuk 2022

Abstract

The success of parents in educating children can be seen from the achievements of children at school, as well as the parents' ability to instill good values in them. This success depends largely on the Parenting Styles adopted by the parents. There are three types of parenting styles; authoritarian, democratic, and permissive. Children's learning achievement can be seen based on the cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) from semester one to semester four, with four categories: Good, Satisfactory, Very Satisfactory, and With Honour. This research aims to determine whether parenting styles affect learning achievement of class 2022 USU Nursing students. Quantitative research is used in this research and data obtained are analysed using Chi-Square test. The research results indicate that value of Sig. (P-Value) is 0.858 (>0.05). The dominant parenting styles is authoritarian, with 106 individuals (79%), and the learning achievement category is predominantly "with honour", namely 91 individuals (68%). Therefore, the research concludes that there is no correlation between parenting styles and the learning achievement of class 2022 USU nursing students.
