This study aims to determine the socioeconomic influence on youth interest
in raising goats and sheep and to find out how much socio-economic influence is
on youth interest in raising goats and sheep in Hamparan Perak District, Deli
Serdang district. This research was carried out in August-October 2024 in
Hamparan Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency. This type of research is
quantitative explanatory which aims to explain the influence of independent
variables on dependent variables, in this case looking at the Influence of
Socioeconomic Factors on Youth Interest in Raising Goats and Sheep in Hamparan
Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency. The population in this study is youth who
raise goats and sheep in Hamparan Perak District with an age range of 16-35
years. The types of data used are quantitative and qualitative data sourced from
primary and secondary data. The data collection method is by observation,
interviews and questionnaires. The analysis tool used in this study is Multiple
Linear Regression which aims to know/predict the socio-economic influence
(income, family environment, community environment, social status) on the interest
of youth in raising goats and sheep using SPSS. Based on the research that has
been conducted, the results are obtained that socio-economic variables, namely
income variables, community environment and social status affect the interest of
youth in raising beef cattle. Meanwhile, the family environment variable has no
effect on the interest of youth in raising beef cattle. The variable that contributed
the most to the interest of youth in raising livestock was the income variable which
had a calculated t value of 7.013.
