Pengaruh Variasi Massa Kalium Bromida (KBR) terhadap Sintesis pada Nanosilikon dari Pasir Alam Pantai Cermin secara Magnesiotermik
Effect of Mass Variation Of Potassium Bromide (KBr) on Synthesis of Nanocylicone from Pantai Cermin Natural Sand by Magnesiothermic
Abstract
Synthesis of nanosilicon from natural sand has been carried out with the addition of KBr salt by magnesiothermic method. Silica was extracted from natural sand with the addition of 10 N NaOH and 6 N HCl and analyzed by FT-IR and XRD analysis. Synthesis of nanosilicon by magnesiothermic with KBr salt with various mole ratio of SiO2:KBr salt is 1:0.5, 1:1, and 1:1.5 at 700ºC for 4 hours. The purification of nanosilicon was carried out by adding a mixture of 5N HCl and 1N CH3COOH in a ratio of 4:1 and a mixture of 48% HF and 1N CH3COOH in a ratio of 1:9. The results of purification by SEM-EDX analysis on the addition of KBr at a ratio of 1:0.5; 1:1 and 1:1.5, i.e. 65.7%, 58.4% and 47% , respectively. with a particle size distribution of 52.80 nm; 56.87 nm and 62.04 nm. The EDX spectrum of SEM-EDX on nanosilicon with the addition of KBr indicated the presence of a large enough silicon element. The adsorption-desorption isotherm (BET) analysis shows a type IV isotherm curve and the average pore size of each is 1:0.5, 1:1, and 1:1.5 i.e. 2.76 nm, 1.76 nm, and 2.75 nm.
