Minat Pemuda Desa dalam Penerapan Pertanian Organik Pada Usahatani Padi Keluarga (Kasus : Desa Pematang Setrak, Kecamatan Teluk Mengkudu, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai)

Abstract

This study aims to identify factors influencing the interest of young villagers in continuing their family rice farming in Pematang Setrak Village, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. The factors analyzed include parents' farming experience, age, education, parents' income, land area, and family successor. The analytical methods used are descriptive analysis and logistic regression. A sample of 31 respondents was used. The results indicate that parents' experience, parents' income, land area, and family successor significantly influence the interest of young villagers in continuing organic rice farming. Approximately 61.30% of the youth in Pematang Setrak Village show a high interest in continuing this farming activity. These findings suggest that young individuals should enhance their skills and knowledge in modern agriculture, as well as utilize technology and social media to support the sustainability of farming activities.
