Planning Analysis of 10-Storey Industrial Building Steel Structure Using Moment Resisting Frame and Ordinary Concentrically Braced Frame
Abstract
Indonesia is located in an area with a high risk of earthquakes, which makes it necessary to plan buildings to withstand earthquake forces. Earthquake-resistant structures can be designed to remain elastic but will require high costs. The hydrogenation building is a 10-story industrial building that uses a steel structure. In this study, there are 3 structural modeling, namely a structure with an Ordinary Concentrically Braced Frame using V-inverted braced (Model 1), a structure with an Ordinary Concentrically Braced Frame using X-braced (Model 2), and a Special Moment Frame System (Model 3). This research aims to analyze and compare each modeling to determine the most effective model for the hydrogenation building.
The hydrogenation building located in Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone will be analyzed for base shear, displacement, drift, moment on the beam, and structural weight using the MidasGen 2024 with the response spectrum analysis method which refers to SNI 1726:2019.
Based on the analysis, the base shear obtained in Model 1 is 258.44 kN, Model 2 is 263.34 kN, and Model 3 is 101.58 kN. The displacement of Model 1 is 8.31 mm in the X direction and 14.48 mm in the Y direction, Model 2 is 8.60 mm in the X direction and 14.21 mm in the Y direction, and Model 3 is 149.37 mm in the X direction and 57.11 mm in the Y direction. The drift that occurs in Model 1 and Model 2 meets the requirements of SNI 1726:2019 article 7.12.1 for the X direction and Y direction, while Model 3 does not meet the requirements. The average moment of the beam with a span of 6 meters in Model 1 is 10.44 kN, Model 2 is 31.52 kN, and Model 3 is 35.85 kN. The structural weight of Model 1 was 306.8 tons, Model 2 was 312.7 tons, and Model 3 was 296.7 tons.
