    Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a clinical condition characterized by increased blood glucose levels due to the body's inability to produce and utilize insulin effectively. Compliance with blood sugar control is a crucial aspect of diabetes mellitus management, and one of the factors influencing this compliance is family support. Family support plays a vital role in behavioral changes among diabetes mellitus patients. This study aims to identify the relationship between family support and compliance with blood sugar control among diabetes mellitus patients in the working area of Padang Bulan Medan Baru Public Health Center. The study employs a correlational research design with a simple random sampling technique, involving 120 respondents. Data analysis includes both univariate and bivariate analyses. The results indicate that the majority of respondents are female (67 respondents, 55.8%), aged between 56-65 years (63 respondents, 52.5%), homemakers (39 respondents, 32.5%), with a high school education (50 respondents, 41.7%), and having suffered from diabetes for 1-5 years (57 respondents, 47.5%). The study findings show that 101 respondents (84.2%) received good family support, and 86 diabetes mellitus patients (71.7%) adhered to blood sugar control measures. Statistical analysis using the Chi-square test with Continuity Correction yielded a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant relationship. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between family support and compliance with blood sugar control among diabetes mellitus patients in the working area of Padang Bulan Medan Baru Public Health Center.
