dc.description.abstract | Background: Quercetine is a flavonoid compound found in many vegetables and
fruits. In addition to having very strong antioxidant activity, quercetine also has
other biological activities such as antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and
anticancer. Several studies have shown that quercetine has significant activity in
inhibiting several cancer cells such as breast, prostate, colon and lung cancer.
Objective: This study aims to quantitatively analyze the quercetine levels of
meniran extract and a combination of temulawak extract, meniran extract and
snakehead fish extract using a spectrophotometer method.
Method: The samples tested in this study were meniran extract and a combination
of temulawak extract, meniran extract and snakehead fish extract. The method used
to determine quercetine levels was the spectrophotometric method.
Results: The results of quercetine levels in the meniran extract samples and the
combination preparation of temulawak extract, meniran extract and snakehead fish
extract which were carried out with three measurements (triple) were 0.89% and
0.33% respectively.
Conclusion: The UV-VIs Spectrophotometry method can be used to analyze
quercetine levels because quercetine contains a conjugated aromatic system that
shows strong absorption bands in the ultraviolet and visible light spectrum. Samples
of meniran extract and a combination of temulawak extract, meniran extract and
snakehead fish extract have quercetine levels of 0.89% and 0.33%, respectively. | en_US |
