dc.description.abstractHis study aims to determine the description of the emotional intelligence of adolescent TikTok social media users in Medan City. The respondents of this study were 348 Medan city adolescents aged 15-21 years with a duration of >6 hours using TikTok. This research method is a quantitative method with a descriptive research type. The measuring instrument used is the Measuring Emotional Intelligence Of School Children questionnaire modified by Raghvan and Panboli (2018). The measuring instrument used is a 5-point Likert scale totaling 27 items with a reliability of 0.872. Data analysis in this study used descriptive data analysis by explaining the data obtained through the questionnaire. Based on the research conducted, the results show that in general the level of emotional intelligence of adolescents in Medan City is in the low category, namely 37.1% to moderate, namely 32.8%. This means that TikTok social media plays a significant role in the emotional intelligence of adolescents in Medan City.en_US
