Pengaruh Asam Giberelat (GA3) dan Benzil Amino Purin terhadap Pertumbuhan Bulbil Porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus Prain)
Effect of Gibberellic Acid (GA3) and Benzyl Amino Purin on the Growth of Bulbil Porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus Prain)
Abstract
Porang (Amorphophallus oncophyllus Prain) is an agricultural crop that has always experienced an increase in export value, but there are obstacles in the propagation process. Propagation using bulbils is considered the most effective, but it takes a long time because it experiences a period of dormancy. One of the solution that can be done is by using growth regulators gibberellic acid and benzyl amino purine. This research aims to determine the effect of gibberellic acid and benzyl amino purine on the growth of porang bulbils. This research was conducted at the land of the Center for Tuber Studies, USU Faculty of Agriculture, Medan, North Sumatra with an altitude of ± 32 meters above sea level from November 2024 to February 2025. This research used Factorial Randomized group Design (RAK) consisting of 2 treatment factors with 3 replications. The first factor was gibberellic acid (0; 250, 500, 750 mg/L). The second factor was benzyl amino purine (0; 75; 150; 225 mg/L). The results showed that the treatment of gibberellic acid 750 mg/L had a significant effect on sprouting age, leaf exit age, number of leaves aged 10 to 14 weeks after planting, root wet weight, crown wet weight, root dry weight and crown dry weight. The treatment of benzyl amino purine had no significant effect on all observed parameters. The interaction of gibberellic acid 250 mg/L and benzyl amino purine 75 mg/L had a significant effect on the number of leaves at 9 weeks after planting.
