Perineal trauma has been identified as a risk factor for urinary incontinence following childbirth. Urinary incontinence is a common condition that can afject the quality of life of postpartum mothers. The most common postpartum urinary problem is stress urinary incontinence. This study aims to identify the occurrence of urinary incontinence during perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers in the Medan Polonia area. The research design used was descriptive with a survey approach, involving a population of 48 postpartum mothers selected through a total sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted descriptively by presenting frequency distributions and cross-tabulations between REEDA scores and the occurrence of urinary incontinence. The study results showed that mothers experienced mild (3%) and moderate (15.2%) urinary incontinence on the second day with REEDA scores of 8, 9, and 10, and on the seventh day with scores of 4, 5, and 6. Differences were observed in perineal wound healing scores; however, there was no difference in the urinary incontinence status of postpartum mothers between the second and seventh days. It can be concluded that postpartum mothers who experienced urinary incontinence on the second day continued to experience it on the seventh day, despite perineal wound healing progress. This condition was associated with the absence of postpartum Kegel exercises from the second to the seventh day of the study period.en_US
