    Abstract
Personal hygiene is a crucial component in maintaining individual health, particularly among school-age children. However, many school-age children lack adequate knowledge about personal hygiene practices such as handwashing, bathing, and toothbrushing. To address this issue, engaging and creative learning media such as visual storytelling is needed. Visual storytelling combines visual elements and narratives that capture children's attention and make it easier for them to understand the information provided. This study aims to determine the effect of education using visual storytelling on knowledge about personal hygiene at SDN 240 Bandar Panjang Tuo. This quantitative research employs a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. Data collection was conducted using purposive sampling, involving 51 respondents consisting of fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade students at SDN 240 Bandar Panjang Tuo. The research instrument used was a personal hygiene knowledge questionnaire. The results showed that before education using visual storytelling, only 3 respondents (6%) had good knowledge of personal hygiene. After three intervention sessions, this number increased to 46 respondents (90.2%). The Wilcoxon signed-rank test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that education using visual storytelling significantly improved knowledge about personal hygiene among school-age children. This study suggests that visual storytelling can be utilized as an educational medium to enhance students' knowledge of personal hygiene.
