dc.description.abstract | This study was conducted to determine how the variation of welding current using the
SMAW welding method with a current strength of 90A, 110A, 120A using the Radiography
Test and Ultrasonic Test testing methods as a detection of welding defects in SS 304 material.
This research method uses experimental methods, and the data taken is secondary data,
namely the results of Non-destructive testing on SS 304 material using Radiography and
Ultrasonic test methods. The results of the research from the welding results, radiography
tests and ultrasonic tests in the study are the variation of electric current with a current
strength of 90A, 110A, 120A on the visual results of welding on SS 304 material looks good
with the Weld Metal area that is raised and wavy. It looks good root penetration and the
amount of welding (root weld) through and the size of the welding is 1.5 mm, 1 mm, and 2 mm.
In accordance with the provisions of the ASME SECTION IX standard that acceptance criteria
root penetration 1-3 mm. | en_US |
