dc.description.abstractChanges in cognitive function among the elderly bring significant impacts on their lives. Cognitive decline in the elderly is significantly associated with increased depression and affects their quality of life. Furthermore, elderly individuals experiencing cognitive decline tend to lose connections with others, including their own families. This study aims to assess cognitive function in elderly residents at Taman Bodhi Asri Nursing Home, Binjai. This research employs a descriptive quantitative method. The total sample consists of 84 respondents, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) questionnaire. The data analysis used in this study is univariate analysis. The results of the study conducted on 84 respondents show that 8 elderly individuals (9.5%) experience definite cognitive impairment, 21 elderly individuals (25.0%) (0%) experience probable cognitive impairment, and 55 elderly individuals (65.5%) have normal cognitive function. These findings suggest that the majority of elderly residents at Taman Bodhi Asri Nursing Home, Binjai, have normal cognitive function.en_US
