The Effect of Addition of Brahman Cattle Testis Flour (Bos indicus) and Commercial Feed with Different Doses on Maleization and Survival of Selection of Gourami Larvae (Osphronemus gouramy)
Abstract
Aquaculture are very dependent on the availability of feed in sufficient
quantity and good quality to assist in the fish growth process. It is known that male
gourami fish (Osphronemus gouramy) grow faster so that it can increase production
from growing gourami fish. One of the aquaculture biotechnologies that has been
widely developed and applied in increasing aquaculture production, especially fish
through masculinization, is sex reversal. This method is carried out orally by adding
Brahman cattle testicle flour (Bos indicus) to commercial feed at different doses.
The aim of this research is to determine the dominant gender by using cow testicle
meal for the Sex Reversal process in Gourami Fish (Osphronemus gouramy) and to
determine the effect of the interaction between mixing commercial feed and cow
testicle meal used on sex formation in gourami fish larvae (Osphronemus gouramy).
This research includes making Brahman cattle testicle flour (Bos indicus), a
Randomized Block Design (RAK) with two factorials, namely mixing beef testicle
flour (T) with commercial feed in different quantities and feeding rates with
different doses of 3%, 4%, 5% with 3 (three) repetitions. The results of feeding cow
testicle flour had a very significant effect on the formation of male genitalia in
gourami fish (Osphronemus gouramy) at a 5% confidence interval and the
concentration treatment by providing commercial feed and the addition of cow
testicle flour had a very significant effect on genital formation. males in gourami
fish (Osphronemus gouramy). With the S2F1 feed test with a mixture of 6% cow
testicle flour and 94% commercial feed with a feeding rate of 3%.
