Dampak Game Terhadap Gamer (Studi Kasus Tokoh Sora dan Shiro pada Anime No Game No Life)
The Impact of Games on Gamers (A Case Study of the Characters Sora and Shiro in the Anime No Game No Life)
Abstract
This study aims to examine the impact of gaming on gamers, focusing on the characters Sora and Shiro in the anime No Game No Life by Yuu Kamiya. The anime tells the story of two gamers who are also hikikomori, and are transported to another world by someone who claims to be a god of a world called Disboard, where everything is governed by games. This research uses the hikikomori theory proposed by Dr. Tamaki Saito. The study employs Content Analysis methodology, supported by descriptive data analysis techniques to explain in detail the results obtained from each scene in the anime No Game No Life. Based on this, the findings can be divided into two categories: the positive and negative impacts of gaming on the characters Sora and Shiro. The positive impacts of gaming shown in No Game No Life include the ability to make good decisions in various situations, even in desperate circumstances, the ability to adapt well to the environment and surrounding conditions, enabling them to outperform opponents in games, a high level of competition between Sora and Shiro in gaming skills, and a strong sense of responsibility. On the other hand, the negative impacts of gaming on the characters Sora and Shiro include becoming addicted to gaming, spending entire days playing games, becoming antisocial, distancing themselves from friends at school, and even becoming hikikomori, completely avoiding contact and communication with others outside their home and isolating themselves at home all day.
