The pass rate of the Indonesian Nursing Competency Exam (UKNI) at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Sumatera Utara, has shown fluctuations in each period. This study aims to identify the relationship between undergraduate cumulative grade point average (GPA), participation in tryouts, and motivation with the pass rate of the UKNI at the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Sumatera Utara. This research employs a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, and the sample was selected using accidental sampling, consisting of 81 respondents. The study was conducted from August 2024 to January 2025. Data analysis using the chi-square test revealed a significant relationship between undergraduate cumulative GPA and the UKNI pass rate (p=0.001), a relationship between participation in tryouts and the UKNI pass rate (p=0.012), and a relationship between motivation and the UKNI pass rate (p=0.006). Therefore, cumulative GPA, participation in tryouts, and motivation are associated with success in the UKNI. Based on these findings, nursing students are encouraged to optimize their self-management skills, both academically and in other preparatory aspects, to achieve competent results in the exam.
