The Malacca Strait is one of the potential fishing areas for squid (Uroteuthis sp.) in Indonesia. This study aims to identify potential squid fishing grounds by analyzing the relationship between oceanographic parameters, such as sea surface temperature (SST), chlorophyll-a, and salinity, with squid catch yields. Data were collected through satellite image processing using SeaDAS and ArcGIS software, as well as direct field observations. The results indicate that the fishing areas from April to June are potential zones located at the coordinates of latitude 3°55’37.8” and longitude 98°53’.31.3” (April), latitude 3°58’16.66” and longitude 98°49’33.76” (May), latitude 4°02’46.74” and longitude 98°43’38.48” (June). This study is expected to provide useful information for fishermen to enhance the effectiveness of squid fishing operations in the waters of the Malacca Strait.en_US
