Gambaran Jenis Lesi Lidah pada Lansia Usia 60-80 Tahun di Puskesmas Gurilla Pematangsiantar

Abstract

Introduction Elderly undergo a physiological process, starting with a gradual decline in cell function, which increases the risk of weakening the body, morbidity and mortality. The oral cavity structure of elderly gets disturbed, especially the tongue. Objective: To determine the prevalence and analyze the relationship between the types of tongue lesions in the elderly aged 60-80 years based on gender at the Gurilla Pematangsiantar Health Center. Method: Cross-sectional design with purposive sampling. The place of the research was conducted at the Gurilla Health Center Jln Gurilla Selatan, Gurilla Village, Siantar Sitalasari District, Pematangsiantar City, a sample of 80 people, 40 men and 40 women. Results: of the examination in 80 samples of the prevalence of coated tongue in men 47.1% and women 52.9%, fissured tongue in men 27.3% and women 72.7%, geographic tongue in men 85.7% and women 14.3%, median rhomboid glossitis in men 85.7% and women 14.3%, black hairy tongue in men 66.7% and women 33.3%, traumatic ulcer in men 50.0% Conclusion: The most prevalence in this study was coated tongue because it was influenced by the degenerative process, oral hygiene status, diet, and residence. There is a relationship between fissured tongue, geographic tongue, median rhomboid glossitis and gender in the elderly aged 60-80 years at the Gurilla Pematangsiantar Health Center.
